PCOS is also referred as the no 1 cause for infertility in women. PCOS aka Polycystic Ovary Syndrome is also known as a silent disorder. This is one of the common disorder found in many women. In all, 5 to 20 percent of women are affected by PCOS in their childbearing stage (1).

Home remedies to treat PCOS

PCOS is also known as Stein Leventhal Syndrome. There is a huge percentage of women who are facing with PCOS today. Medical treatments can have some side effects towards your health. Below are some of the home remedies to treat PCOS that are found easily in your kitchen.


  • Basil leaves

Our holy plant Tulsi is also known as Basil leaves. These leaves are found in each and everyone’s house. This is also one of the oldest home remedies for PCOS or any other disorder.

How much to consume?

You can eat 10 to 14 basil leaves every day in the morning.

How does it help?

How to take?

Take one tablespoon of cinnamon powder or 1-inch stick of it power day.

Have it daily with your fruit juices or smoothies or you can also have it with your daily foods and salads.


  • Green tea

Green tea is one of the top home remedies for PCOS. It has many antioxidant properties and is very well known for its historical medical properties found in Chinese traditions.

How much to consume?

You can drink green tea two to three times in a day daily. And it is herbal too, it won’t have any negative side effects on your body.

How does it help?

Green tea has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. It helps in stimulating the metabolism of the body. Green tea contains polyphenols which help to prevent cellular damage which affects the women’s androgen level.

How to take?

You can have a green tea as a normal tea as well, But preparation is different for a green tea. Boil water for 2 minutes in high flame, pour it into a cup and then add one teaspoon of green tea. Mix it well and drink after staining. If your tea is veto strong, then you can add a teaspoon of organic honey.

Note:- Don’t add sugar or milk to the green tea. Don’t even boil the water with green tea leaves in it.

Some lifestyle changes

  • Increase iron-rich foods – veggies such as lentils, spinach, garden cress seeds, kale are a very good source of iron.
